The magazine La Intemperie as a discourse of resistance in the city of Córdoba, Argentina (2003-2007)

Abstract

With the aim of contributing to the main axis of the present dossier, namely the tense dialogue between discourses and their counter-discourses of resistance to promote an ethics of resistance, this article sets out to reclaim the notions of “counter-discourse” (Angenot, 2010b) and “molecular resistance” (Brocato, 1986) to analyze the intellectual and artistic production of the magazine La Intemperie, in the city of Córdoba, Argentina, in the post-social, political, economic, and cultural crisis of 2001. Methodologically, we will proceed to identify marks in the discursive materiality to establish topical and thematic regularities that allow us to account for the way in which intellectual discourse operates, under certain conditions, as a political tool of counter-discursive resistance. The corpus material consists of the first three issues of the publication that are relevant for the analysis. The conclusions reveal that the intellectual discourse, centered in these underground magazines and distanced from established powers, contests the meaning of the doxological system that seeks to impose simplifying and singular narratives.
