Propriedades Psicométricas da Escala Novo Paradigma Ecológico (NEP-R) em População Chilena

Resumo

A escala Novo Paradigma Ambiental (NEP) (Dunlap & Van Liere, 1978) e suas adaptações posteriores (Amérigo & González, 2001; Dunlap, Van Liere, Mertig & Jones, 2000; Vozmediano & San Juan, 2005) é amplamente utilizada em países europeus e da América, mas não há uma versão em espanhol para uso no Chile, nem no Cone Sul. A NEP e sua versão mais atual – NEP-R –, permite medir crenças ambientais dentro de duas grandes dimensões: ecocentrismo e antropocentrismo, respectivamente, uma orientada para a proteção e cuidado com o meio ambiente e outro relativo a predominância e a exploração da natureza pelo homem. Aplica-se aqui o NEP-R a 760 adultos de diferentes cidades das regiões Metropolitana, do Maule, e Bío-Bío, de Chile, resultando em confiabilidade alfa de Cronbach de 0.757. Uma análise fatorial produz dois fatores explicativos do 42% da variância. São discutidas as propriedades psicométricas obtidas com relação àqueles das versões espanholas do NEP-R.
