Frontal lobe epilepsy in childhood: Psychological and neuropsychological aspects <b>[Abstract in English]</b>

Aims: To review the psychological and neuropsychological aspects of the frontal lobe epilepsy in childhood. Source of data: Review of the literature, mainly through journals indexed in SciELO and Medline. Summary of findings: Epileptic crisis of the frontal lobe epilepsy in childhood, psychological and neuropsychological aspects of the frontal lobe epilepsy and their repercussions are presented and discussed. Conclusions: In the child, frontal lobe epilepsy can result in psychological and neuropsychological disorders, such as deficits in executive functions (cognition, planning, language, memory and attention), behavior alterations(control of impulses and aggressiveness), manifestations of behavior epileptic crisis, and worsening of the quality of life.
