This article aims to discuss the interpretation of Nietzsche's philosophy undertaken by Hans Vaihinger (1852-1933) in Philosophie des Als Ob (1911). According to Vaihinger over his work Nietzsche develops a “theory of consciously intended appearance” (die Lehre vom bewuβtgewollten Schein), which reconsiders the value of fictions front of the practical life on the trail left by Kant and Lange. As a result, Nietzsche's philosophy can be regarded as the metaphysical “as if”, ficcional and pragmatic approach developed by Vaihinger.Downloads
