The female household’s head in single families in extreme poverty situation

Abstract

This work has for having intended to present and to comment on data on a research accomplished with women heads of the family single mothers in situation of extreme poverty in the municipal district of Londrina in the period from 2003 to 2005. Starting from the main objective of the research, which is to identify, to know and to analyze the socioeconomic profile of the families single mothers led by women in situation of extreme poverty defined as universe of the research the women reached by the Program Municipal Bag-school. The data compiled starting from the cadastration showed that 38% of the benefitted families are monoparentais, tends the woman (except for a family) as responsible for the home. In this text we intended to comment on the relative results to the partnerdemographic profile and the meaning of the feminine family leadership for the interviewed women.
