The recreation of the Pícaro in Brazilian literature

Abstract

In the present article, we search for studying the configuration of the trickster in brazilian literature, who can be seen as a re-creation of the spanish pícaro character. We also accomplish a commentary of the novel Malditos paulistas: romance policial-picaresco, by Marcos Rey with the purpose of detaching the main characteristics of the literary trickster and the approaches that can be established between the picaresque character and the trickster.
