A reflection on the arguments revealed in social manifestations against and in favor of abortion in Brazil

Abstract

Dedicated to gender issues studied in the field of Cultural Studies, this writing aims to reflect the argument exposed in social movements that involve the realization of abortion in Brazil. More specifically, it intends to adopt as object of study the manifestations that occurred in social networks for and against the procedure in a 10-year-old girl raped by her uncle in São Mateus (Espírito Santo - Brazil), in the year 2020. To this end, the proposal uses the displays of violence, mourning and politics developed by Judith Butler (2018), as well as contributions by Chaïm Perelman and Lucie Olbrechts-Tyteca (2005) related to argumentation. Texts by authors such as Angela Davis (2017), Ruth Amossy (2006) and Monique Wittig (2019) will also be substantial.
