This study analyzes environmental concern from a multidimensional proposal of environmental attitudes. From a preceding multidimensional conceptualization with undergraduate student, the main objective is to test a measure of four dimensions of environmental attitudes in a sample of general population (N = 245). Furthermore, a relationship among this attitudinal dimensions and four categories of environmental behaviors are analyzed. The results confirm the validity and reliability of the measurement model, and support the different constructs involved, showing a dual scheme of environmental concern where anthropocentric and ecocentric attitudes are in conflict. Regarding ecological behavior, the most frequent ones were those which less demanded implication and personal commitment. The impact of environmental apathy was negative on all behaviors analyzed. The consideration of multidimensional perspective of environmental concern allows to establish a more precise profile about people attitudes and pro-environmental behavior.Downloads
