Keywords:
Meta-theory, social theory, John B. Thompson.Abstract
In this essay, we aimed to discuss the meta-theoretical conjectures in which John B. Thompson’s social theory is based. To achieve this purpose, we divide this essay in three parts. In the first one, we presented and analyzed the conjectures proposed by this theory about science philosophy, or rather, the ones concerning it’s ontology, it’s epistemology, it’s human nature and it’s the methodology. In the second part, we discussed the conjectures on society´s theory, or rather, those concerning the nature of the social world. In the third part, we analyzed the way this social theory bonds these two groups of conjectures and the ethical consequences of this bounding.Downloads
