Abstract

This article intends to examine the text of Pope Francis ‘encyclical Laudato Si’ from the perspective of the logic of gift, ultimately the logic of gratuity, that is, in terms of Christian theology, the logic of grace. This perspective will be explained at the end of the article, after analyzing the ethical, practical, and even political and technological implications that are called into question in the text of the encyclical. It is concluded that the future of life on earth, ecologically harmonized, will only be possible with the ethical generosity of the human.

Licenciado en Ciencias Sociales por UNIFEBE / SC (1987), en Teología por el ITESC / FACASC (1993), en Ciencias Religiosas por la PUCPR (1995); Maestría en Educación, Historia y Política por la UFSC (1998), Maestría en Teología Sistemática por la PUCRS (2004); Doctor en Educación por la UFRGS (2006); Doctor en Teología Sistemática por la Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca, UPSA (2020); Postdoctorado en Pensamiento Ibérico y Latinoamericano por UPSA (2018).
