O homem e a liberdade em Plotino

This paper deals with the problem of the human being and the freedom in Plotinus’ Enneads. Like Plato, he defends the preexistence of the soul and, at the same time, the capacity for choosing between evil and good actions. The highest stage of freedom is the mystical union with God. He is panentheist. But a false idea of his cosmovision is the so-called apocatastasis. God for Plotinus is causa sui; it means that the One is what He wishes to be and cannot be different. In Plotinus we see a man as a symbol looking for transcendence in our antimetaphysical world. KEYWORDS: Enneads. Freedom. Plotinus. Henosis.Downloads
