Abstract

The Second Letter to the Corinthians expresses a moment of high tension between Paul and the Corinthians regarding the credibility of his ministry. The conflict arises from the external influence of Judaizing groups. The Apostle uses this particular context to deepen and make explicit the soteriological supremacy of the Christ event over the provisionality of the Mosaic Law. With rhetorical genius and theological consistency, he strives to neutralize the effects caused by his opponents and seeks to draw the community back into the orbit of his ministry and, consequently, to the foundation of his Gospel: the centrality of the Christ event; An experience capable of generating new men and women reconciled in the grace of the Spirit. This article presents some Christological, pneumatological and eschatological aspects that underpin ministry and its ecclesiological implications from the perspective of the New Alliance.
