The constant technological advances have caused a true revolution in our modus vivendi that still impact exponentially on the whole society. We are living in the information age and, in it, one of the main issues that emerges is the one that concerns privacy and the personal data protection. With the introduction of computer systems in almost all social sectors, our data is increasingly useful but vulnerable at the same time, being collected, processed, and transferred, many times, without ethical concerns. Taking this into account, the present study seeks to provoke a reflection on the impacts of the information society, the understanding and the scope of Artificial Intelligence (AI), and, above all, to encourage discussion on the importance of considering the ethical and moral values in conjunction with technological development, trying to put on the table the risks that technology, without observing ethical principles, may create new social problems.
