Hermeneutics applied to "Orkut"
Abstract
This paper discusses the usefulness of the concepts of common sense and tick description, proposed by Geertz, in understanding the interaction in virtual space. This study is limited to the networking site Orkut, more precisely to the profile of its users and the discussions occuring in their communities. We conclude that the dense observation, meaning the detailed interpretation of meanings and the observation of common sense, allow a better understanding of the relationships existing in this space.Downloads
